Inspirational women’s day at Norwich church

Nadine ParkinsonCFSaturday 15 November was a memorable day as 230 women gathered at Witard Road Baptist Church for the “Living Free Women’s Conference” in association with New Wine.

Main speaker at the event was Nadine Parkinson who is an Associate Pastor at All Saints, Marple near Manchester.  Nadine and her husband Ian have been on the New Wine Senior Leadership Team for 10 years and Nadine has a special role in developing the relationship between New Wine and the Christian relief & development charity, Tearfund.

Women travelled from all over the region to attend including some from as far way as Cambridge, Peterborough and Sheffield with over forty churches represented.  Nadine’s inspirational teaching looked at how easy it is to be plagued by thoughts, feelings and habits that restrict the freedom and fullness of life that we are promised as Christians.  For many women in today’s world the pressures of life are intense with the need to balance work, family and looking after the home.  The conference offered great teaching, fellowship with other Christian women and an opportunity to reflect and meet with God.  As one delegate expressed afterwards - "An enormous thank you. So lovely to come away refreshed and unwound, with the day making me feel 'I’m worth it’.”

The success of the event was very satisfying for the organising team, drawn from five churches across Norfolk.  Worship music was led by Tracy Moore with a band formed from various churches. The event supported the international charity, Tearfund and locally based Time Norfolk - the pregnancy loss charity.
