The Norwich Christian community is invited to volunteer at a new 10 kilometre road race taking on Sunday August 30, with the route passing several churches in the city.

Run Norwich is a new 10-kilometre road race on Sunday August 30 and will see up to 4,500 runners take to the city centre streets, passing some of Norwich's most iconic landmarks.

The course has been designed to create a unique experience in Norwich for runners and spectators, with music and entertainment at the start and along the route.

Active Norfolk is assisting race organisers Norwich City Community Sports Foundation (CSF) to recruit a number of volunteers to help on race day. Volunteer roles include race marshals, start/finish line helpers, water-station attendants and charity bucket collectors

Ellen Vanlint from Active Norfolk said, “There will be lots of people in the city on race day – both runners and spectators and we would really welcome people from Norwich churches who would like to get involved as volunteers.”

The race starts at 9.30am on Bethel Street and follows a route past St Peter Mancroft Church and The Forum, up to the Catholic Cathedral along Chapelfield Road Church towards Riverside and down Magdalen Street.

The race is organised by CSF and one of their key aims is to support local causes and, in addition to CSF, they are encouraging runners to fundraise for the chosen partner charities for this year.

If you would like to volunteer, please email Ellen on ellen.vanlint@activenorfolk.org or call 01603 731566
