School principal and Norwich worship leader

International school principal and former Norwich Christian youth worker and worship leader, Nick Miller, has died aged 61. Geoff Lawton pays a personal tribute.

Nick Miller (1953 – 2015) came to Norwich in the early seventies as a student at the University of East Anglia. Through the visits of a band called 11.59 and evangelist Eric Delve, a youth work began in Norwich based at All Hallows in Rouen Road called The Ark.

Nicky, alongside others, was instrumental in its formation. The Ark became the precursor for Norwich Youth for Christ.

Nick married Alison and together they moved to Hong Kong where they were both teachers. Nick went on to become deputy head at South Island School, deputy head at St John's School, Waterloo in Belgium, the YMCA School, again in Hong Kong, and finally Principal at the Australian International School in Singapore.

Nick was a gentle but charismatic friend to many and was very loved and respected. He was hugely creative, leading worship, composing songs and writing.

Back in the early seventies Nicky wrote a song, 'The Lord He is my home, He is my home....'.

Now Jesus is his home, a huge loss to us but heaven's gain.

He died from motor neurone disease aged 61 leaving his wife and four children.
