KL Prayer Vigil 540
Bishop of Lynn hosts prayer vigil for refugees

A prayer vigil for refugees is being held at St Faith’s Church, Gaywood on May 25 hosted by the Bishop of Lynn and organised by Christian Aid.

The Bishop of Lynn will host a prayer vigil for refugees on Wednesday, May 25, 7.30pm – 8.45pm at St Faith’s Church, Gaywood in King’s Lynn with people from different churches taking part.

Organised by Christian Aid, it will be a poignant evening of prayer, music and silence as the plight of refugees and people living in poverty are remembered and prayed for.  Prayer will also be offered for other specific areas of need around the world.

As part of the prayer vigil there will be music from Filipino singers and the Bishop of Lynn.

Julian Bryant, Norfolk Coordinator for Christian Aid said: “Most of us have seen images of desperate people seeking help across the world. These images come and go but many of the needs remain the same.

“In Syria alone over 300,000 people have died in the conflict including 12,000 children.  Over 4 million people have fled this dire situation and become refugees seeking shelter. This is just Syria.  Surely we must bring these situations to God.”

Everyone is welcome to attend and take part. There will also be the opportunity to make a practical response in different ways.
