Empowered, Enriched, Envisioned at Sheringham event

The recent Stir 19 worship and teaching weekend organised by Lighthouse Community Church in Sheringham was a great success, attended by 280 people, and it is hoped something similar may take place in future.

Empowered, Enriched & Envisioned was the vision for Lighthouse Sheringham’s first major conference on May 4 and 5.  The event was spread over two sites – with a packed programme for youth and children taking place at Lighthouse and the adult event at St Andrews Methodist just across the road.

“The Stir events at Lighthouse had been held as single evenings over the last three years, and the move to doing a full weekend programme was a big step for the church.  A step that has proven itself well worth doing and has paid off” said Ian Savory, Lighthouse senior pastor.

Stir 19 Lighthouse kids 750AT“Teaching from Paul & Priscilla Reid and Roy Crowne was exceptional, and the whole weekend was brought together by times of worship and having time in the presence of God. Raise Children’s Ministry and Norwich Youth for Christ led a fantastic programme for the children and young people and the responses on what God is doing in their lives are incredible."

Refreshments were provided at both venues and Lighthouse Café was open throughout both afternoons.

Hazel Randall said on Facebook, “We had a one-day ticket. We heard three different inspirational speakers, who are also very practical and grounded. We had planned to do our usual Sunday stuff today, but now plan to go back for more! Thanks Lighthouse Church for organising this event, and thanks Methodists for using your beautiful church for this conference.”

Ian continued “Although the event was originally primarily for Lighthouse folk, it was great to see many from other churches really meeting with God, which is the key objective for these events. Our aims were:
To place God’s people before Him; empowered for what He wants them to do, enriched by being with Jesus, and a fresh sense of envisioning that leads to service in our communities. God is Good.”
