Christian adventure weekend on North Norfolk coast
Fifty young people from three Youth for Christ centres in Norfolk will be taking part in an adventure weekend on the North Norfolk coast later this month, giving them the opportunity to find out more about Jesus. Tony Rothe reports.
The residential weekend is called Kairos 2020 from an ancient Greek word signifying a proper or opportune time for action. It is a collaborative venture by three Youth for Christ centres - East Norfolk, North Breckland and Norwich.
It promises to be a fully packed weekend of Aeroball, Zip wire, Archery and Quad-biking, as well as sessions from The Sense, exploring Jesus and “How is He relevant in 2020?” “What does it mean that He loves us and why should I care?”
Ali Roberts from East Norfolk Youth for Christ said, “As it's Valentine's weekend, the theme will be around love, and we hope to show the young people the wholesome, Agape love of our perfect Father.”
The weekend will run from 5pm on Friday February 14 to 6.30pm on Sunday February 16 at Kingswood Activity Centre, Cromer Road, West Runton, Norfolk, NR27 9NF.
Ali continued, “There is so much excitement about this event! Thank you so much to the people who have donated funds to cover the places for two of these young people. The difference between what they pay, and the actual cost is £95 per place. Every donation helps to offset this cost and we are extremely grateful for your support as well as those who support on a regular basis to enable us to do these events for these beautiful young people. We are praying that this will be a significant KAIROS moment in their spiritual lives.”
