Climate Pilgrimage starting in Great Yarmouth

Faith groups in Norfolk will come together in August to begin a multifaith relay pilgrimage towards Glasgow, the venue for the COP26 UN climate talks; and anyone is welcome to join the pilgrimage.

Organised by Quakers and the Church of England in Norfolk, the pilgrimage route will run in sections between churches and Quaker meeting houses, allowing participants to join by walking, cycling, or taking public transport for as many or as few sections as they would like to.

The organisers invite anyone of any faith group, or none, from any part of the country to join in, or start their own pilgrimage to express their urgent concern that the climate talks at COP26 produce realistic commitments by governments to the radical changes needed to save the planet from ecological disaster.

All are welcome to be involved by:
- walking part or all of the route with the group
- writing a prayer and leaving it at one of the ‘waystation’ churches or meeting houses
- writing a letter to the Prime Minister and leaving it at one of the ‘waystations’, to be posted together with others from King’s Lynn.
