This core role is to manage the charity’s finance and financial processes so that we have excellent financial governance. The role involves responsibility for all finance and payroll activities for the organisation as well as providing oversight of HR and ICT, focusing on delivering and developing high quality services to the organisation.  Experience of the charity sector and multi-stream funding would be an advantage.

The role involves: -

  • preparation and presentation of Monthly management accounts and commentary, budget and cashflow forecast;
  • preparation and presentation of costing and financial modelling for bids and projects;
  • liaison with external ICT provider;
  • supporting the work of the HR Officer;
  • line management of the Finance and HR team including monitoring the workloads and undertaking performance reviews against agreed key performance indicators.


The Matthew Project is a value driven charity empowering young people and adults to overcome drugs, alcohol, and mental health issues so they can live their lives more fully.   In addition, we offer specialist services for both family members impacted by others’ substance misuse and for veterans. This can only be done with a strong support team lead by our Finance and Business Manager.

The role will require the successful candidate to undertake a DBS check prior to starting employment.

The office base is in Norwich with the flexibility of some home working. You will be expected to be in the office at least 2 days a week.
