Third YMCA charity shop reopens in Norwich

The YMCA charity shop in Anglia Square, Norwich has found a new home after a devastating flood in its previous premises meant stock loss and it becoming unusable.

The decision to move to a unit once owned by PMT was made after the unfortunate closure of their previous shop due to a flood that resulted in stock loss and the condemnation of the premises. Amidst uncertainties around Anglia Square's future, the team are delighted to have a fresh start in this new unit, eagerly awaiting the return of their valued customers.

This shop becomes the third city centre store to open, joining shops in Castle Quarter and on St Stephens Street.

The store opening was well attended with shoppers queueing to find the best deals. One store volunteer said: "It's fantastic to witness the community rallying around to support us. We've really missed our regular customers."

Profits from this store impact the work of YMCA Norfolk in transforming young lives through providing accommodation, mental health support, and investing in their future.

The store manager added: “It’s great to have our shop back, where we know that all the money we raise supports homeless young people and helps them to rebuild their lives.”

Operating seven days a week, the new store welcomes customers from Monday to Saturday, 9 am to 5:30 pm, and on Sundays from 10 am to 4 pm. YMCA Anglia Square Charity Shop invites the local community to join them in this exciting new chapter, where every purchase contributes to a brighter future for young lives in Norfolk.
