Hundreds in Norwich join global prayer meeting

2010: Hundreds of Christians from dozens of
Norfolk churches gathered at
Norwich Cathedral on
May 23 to join millions of others right across the world in the
Global Day of Prayer.
Pentecost Sunday saw events held across the globe in over 220 countries ranging from football stadiums and cathedrals to the open air or people’s homes.

In Norwich, the event was hosted by
Pastor Trevor Pimlott from
Norwich Family Life Church and the Very
Rev Graham Smith, Dean of Norwich Cathedral.
Leaders from churches and Christians organisations from across Norfolk led worship and prayers for the new government, the poor and vulnerable and community service agencies.
While the main service was going on, children of participants were enjoying interactive prayers at the close-by Open Youth Venue involving footballs, climbing walls and Fairtrade chocolate. They returned to the Cathedral to lead the last section of prayers.
