Bible-based escape room ready for Norfolk

Puzzle Pod, a new Bible-based portable escape room for 8 to 11 year olds, is ready to come to your school or church this autumn.

The new venture from Christian charity Raise Kids Work, offers a unique and interactive experience to bring the Bible alive and it comes to you.

The project is led by Raise Director of Operations Andy Jones. “After fundraising began in November 2020 – we’ve seen the exciting development from idea to reality happen for the Puzzle Pod and our first theme,” said Andy.

The first iteration of the Puzzle Pod follows the story of Joseph from the Old Testament. Hosted by Professor Marmaduke Puzzleton, children are introduced the Puzzle Pod, travelling back in time to be immersed in the story.

By using teamwork and problem solving, the Puzzle Pod helps children learn the themes and key parts of the story. Moving through the “Hebrew tent” and the “Egyptian throne room” children recall parts of the Joseph story to escape the Pod.

The pod takes an hour to complete in groups of seven. Churches around Norfolk can book the pod to come to them. “It would work with families with over 8s, older kids groups, or even school years 7-9,” said Andy.

After a successful pilot phase testing the pod in churches and schools, Andy and the team are ready to open booking for the autumn term. You can also support the pod by sponsoring a child, a group of children, or a class in your local church or school and have the Puzzle Pod visit them.
