New families worker for N Norfolk Methodists

Hannah Martin has been appointed as Families and Young People's Lay Worker for the North Norfolk Methodist Circuit, and is already getting involved in projects in the district. Tony Rothe reports.

The role is to support the Churches in their ministry to families and young people, engaging with schools and other organisations to best serve the local communities. The North Norfolk Circuit includes thirteen churches, stretching along the North Norfolk coast from Weybourne to Mundesley, out as far as Hickling on the Broads, and inland as far as Aylsham and Reepham.
 
Hannah, pictured above, explains, “I recently relocated to North Norfolk with my sister and two whippets. We have always loved Norfolk and finally decided it was time to make the move. I have a background in children's ministry and was seeking what God was calling me to next, when I heard about a new role within the North Norfolk Methodist Circuit. I am delighted to have been appointed as their Families and Young People's Lay Worker and am enjoying getting to know everyone.”
 
She is looking forward to the summer and is already part of the Sheringham Beachlife team, helping to plan their August outreach on the clifftops and beach in Sheringham. She says that it is great to be working with other Churches to share the gospel and be a witness to the town.
 
She will also be involved with Messy Family Fun mornings at Hickling on Wednesdays during August, a chance for families to gather for free activities, food and a Bible Story.
 
Hannah concludes “I am excited about all that God is doing in North Norfolk and my hope is that I will be able to follow where he leads. I hope that I will be a good support to the Churches and enable them to continue the great things they are already doing, but also help set up new initiatives in the coming months and years.”
