IMAGE-choir-attheheartWatoto choir at Soul Church's 10th birthday

Having recently moved into their new home on Heartsease Lane, SOUL Church will be celebrating their 10th birthday on July 7. The Watoto Children’s Choir will be joining them all day, with a special 5pm service of worship and thanksgiving.

Ambassadors of hope for Africa’s widows and orphans, the choir is made up of Ugandan children who live in the country’s Watoto village. There, vulnerable women and children can make a safe home for themselves, learning skills that will lift them out of poverty and give them a brighter future.

The choir of orphans tour the world, sharing their stories and advocating for the millions who still live in poverty in Uganda. They have reached schools, parliaments, churches and palaces right across the globe and in July will be returning to SOUL Church, Norwich, to join in the church’s 10th birthday celebrations.

Pastor Jon Norman said, “The young people in the choir have a powerful message of transformation. Through song, dance and story they give us a glimpse of God’s heart for the marginalised. We’re delighted to welcome the choir back and would love to issue an open invitation for all to come along to our 5pm service and experience the choir’s message for themselves. For us as a church, it’s a great way to support the choir, as we have done over the years, and to celebrate all that God has done for them and for us over the past decade. It’s also a great opportunity for people to bring their non-churched friends.”
