A Night at the Opera at Sheringham church

Sheringham and Cromer Choral Society will return to St Peter’s in Sheringham later this month for a programme based on the world of opera, and tickets are now available.

Entitled “With Heart and With Voice”, this will be the final concert of the society’s 2023-2024 season, and is described as a delightful programme comprising a selection of popular choruses from the worlds of opera, operetta and oratorio.

The programme includes such favourites as Verdi’s Brindisi from La Traviata and Chorus of the Hebrew Slaves from Nabucco, excerpts from Judas Maccabeus by Handel as well as Gilbert and Sullivan choices like A Wandering Minstrel I from The Mikado and Hark the hour of ten is sounding from Trial by Jury.

The choir is directed by David Ballard and Philip Adams will accompany at the organ.

Bob Cumber, from the choral society, said, “Whilst this may be a slight departure from the choir’s usual choral repertoire it promises to be a joyous programme perfect for a summer evening.”

The concert will take place at 7pm on Saturday 20 July at St Peter’s Parish Church, Church Street, Sheringham, NR26 8QS.

Tickets are £12 each, under 18’s free, from the box office at Sheringham Little Theatre 01263 822347 or online at www.sheringhamlittletheatre.com. They are also on sale at Cromer Tourist Information and, if available, on the door.
