Dare to Create at Norfolk Christian Retreat House
Over the next six months the Quiet Waters Christian Retreat House, close to Bungay, is hosting four art-based day retreats reflecting on the gift of creativity and giving opportunities to create.
Over the next six months the Quiet Waters Christian Retreat House, set in a large Georgian House on the Suffolk and Norfolk border, is hosting a series of four art-based day retreats to consider the gift of creativity.
Starting on Thursday, October 31, 9.30am-4.30pm the leaders of CARM (Creative Arts Retreat Movement) Brian and Claire Watts will kick off the series with ‘Dare to Create’, a time to reflect on God’s creativity, creativity in the Bible, and where it all fits with our own faith journeys.
Passionate about seeing people grow in faith through discovering the place of creativity in their lives, Brian and Claire Watts have been running creativity workshops and retreats, as well as teaching on creativity and faith, since 2006. They believe that God wants everyone to enjoy and be blessed by the gift of creativity.
Brian and Claire said: “There will be opportunities and encouragement to ‘have a go’ but there will be no pressure to produce works of art! You might just find yourself ‘daring to create’! For those who already engage in creative activities this will be an opportunity to consider what we do and why, how we can further our understanding and gifts, and how we can use it all to further the Kingdom of God.”
The series continues on Thursday, November 28 with ‘Exploring Creativity', then Friday, January 31 with ‘Releasing Creativity’ and on Thursday, February 27 with ‘Nurturing Creativity’, arriving each session at 9.30am and departing at 4.30pm.
All materials and lunch are provided. The retreats cost £30 for each one-day session or £100 for all four sessions.
