Corton House, a residential care home and independent living facility in Norwich, is looking for a Registered Manager.
 


Welcome to Corton House Ltd, a not-for-profit organisation, with a mission to provide excellent loving care and support for older people. We have been operating for over 70 years, with a Christian ethos, in the heart of Norwich.

We operate a 42 bedded Residential Care Home (Corton House) and a 51 Property Independent Living complex (Brakendon Close).

We are currently recruiting a Registered Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to be a leading part of our drive to achieve an Outstanding rating with the Care Quality Commission (CQC). Corton House is regulated by the CQC and was judged to be “REQUIRES IMPROVEMENT” in May 2022 following an inspection. However, we have a serious ambition to be Outstanding.

We will look to you to provide leadership for all our staff to create a safe and supportive environment for residents with a range of needs whilst also relying on your professional judgement to make critical clinical decisions.

Corton-House-X3A9903You can expect a wide range of responsibilities, as the Registered Manager and you’ll be expected to:

  • Ensure the service exceeds all regulatory and company standards.
  • Demonstrate enthusiasm, passion and determination to achieve ‘Outstanding’ and deliver the highest quality person-centred care.
  • Help team members achieve the highest standards with an eye for detail to ensure that Aims & Objectives are achieved and to ensure that each Resident receives care and support which is appropriate to their individual needs.
  • Ensure successful operation of quality control systems and risk management processes, including audits and checks.
  • Ensure that there is good communication and effective team building amongst all staff, including holding regular team meetings.
  • Demonstrate an excellent working Knowledge of CQC Standards, Key Lines of Enquiry and upcoming Quality Statements.
  • Demonstrate a sound understanding of best practice in the industry.
  • Oversee recruitment and appointment of staff and ensure that they are given every opportunity to excel through appropriate training and development.
  • Actively participate in the growth and development of the business.
  • Be a significant part of the on-call rota team, showing a willingness to be hands on and cover shifts as necessary.

The role incorporates a high level of interaction and communication with our Residents ( >40) and Staff ( >60) therefore requires strong communication and interpersonal skills. The successful candidate must provide a service based on respect, and carry out the role with promptness and politeness at all times.

The successful candidate will be flexible in their working days, which may be changeable week to week depending on the needs of the residents and team. Working times will sometimes include weekends, evenings and nights particularly in relation to on-call responsibilities.
